- Salary and wage negotiations deadlocked on 7 June 2018. IMATU referred a mutual interest dispute to the SALGBC on 8 June 2018. The matter has been set down for conciliation on 28 June 2018 and Pat Stone has been appointed as the conciliator.
- The next IMATU National Special Recruitment Campaign will be running from 1 July 2018 – 31 August 2018.
- With effect from 1 July 2017, adjustments, in terms of the Salary and Wage Collective Agreement, will be as follows:
No Item Increase 1 Salary Increase 7.36% across the board. 2 Minimum Wage Increases by 7.36% to R6 845.09 3 Home Owners Allowance Increases by 6% to R796.71 4 Medical Aid Subsidy The maximum employer contribution rate to an employee’s accredited medical scheme as set out in clause 8.1.3 of the Collective Agreement shall be increased by 25% of the salary and wage increase for 2017/18 financial year. 5 Employer contribution rate to defined contribution pension funds. Remains at 18% of basic salary. Higher contribution rates remain protected.
