IMATU explained the basis of our proposal for a new wage curve collective agreement and answered questions of clarity posed by SALGA. However, we were unable to present a joint labour position to SALGA as other parties indicated that they needed more time to consult with their members and obtain a mandate for negotiations. It was therefore agreed to give all parties a period of 30 days for further consultation within their internal structures.
IMATU will follow up the matter after the 30 day period has expired and request the SALGBC to reconvene the National Bargaining Committee in order to proceed with substantive negotiations on the matter.
Regions will be kept informed as the matter progresses.
